Consulting Analyst, The Information Lab
I have been working for The Information Lab since August 2018, which also marks the length of time I have been using Alteryx! I have been lucky enough to use it almost every day since then, from data cleansing and preparation to troubleshooting macros and building apps. Would like to use more predictive tools and spatial!
I have worked in analytics through my entire career, but sat in quite a few different seats during that time! Before my current role I worked for Transport for London, the municipal transport authority for the city (I am a fountain of tube facts), and Carlsberg, the brewer based in Copenhagen. Before encountering Alteryx I tended to do my analytics with R and to a lesser extent Python.
While working at The Information Lab I have been placed with clients who differ in their uses of Alteryx, which has been very helpful to learn from. One had a very mature deployment, with thousands of users, which was great to learn from as use cases and workflows were very complex. On the other hand, I've also been placed where I am the expert in the company and thus are guiding others in best practice, troubleshooting, and investigating interesting problems. This has led to developing solutions which are completely innovative to the company and help a lot of people get their work done, which I find really rewarding.
In my spare time I am an avid reader (particularly on my commute) and museum visitor, as well as enjoying yoga, martial arts, running and swimming. Our company recently competed in a Tough Mudder which, while certainly tough, I'd love to do again!
